QA Analyst

Emmis Interactive is seeking an experienced QA Analyst with a minimum of 4 years experience, to participate in the testing of new online products and services supporting the company’s various media properties/affiliates.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Executes manual and automated tests and logs the outcomes of testing
  • Perform software\system, end-to-end regression and performance/load testing
  • Automate test cases
  • Report defects and validate their resolutions
  • Inspect resultant data in databases, XML files, interface log files, administrative consoles etc.
  • Writes test cases as required
  • Builds test harnesses as required
  • Reports to the Manager of Quality Assurance
Work Description

This position will assist with testing efforts for integrated web-based applications offered in a hosted environment. This will include writing test plans, creating test schedules, creating/reviewing test cases and executing functional/system/integration testing.

The position will also perform test plan and test case reviews, maintain testing issues lists and follow up as necessary; analyze business and technical requirements to create detailed test cases/scripts; and serve in the QA role for projects.

Strong analysis and problem solving skills are needed. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. The ability to work independently and to adapt to a wide variety of situations is important.

Technical skills and experience needed
  • BA or BS Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience
  • 4+ years of experience software web based testing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft web-based technologies (IIS and .NET Frameworks)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server /Team Suite
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and related testing lifecycle
  • Experience with test automation processes and technologies
  • Experience with performance testing processes and technologies
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with ASPX
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • xcellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience working with software development teams using Agile and iterative development (SCRUM, XP or Feature Driven) methodologies
